Hi, my name is Roseana and this is my story…
When I went searching for my own bridal gown a year before my wedding, I came across an advertisement on Craigslist for Something Borrowed Bridal Boutique. I loved the idea of renting a gown instead of purchasing an expensive wedding dress that I would only wear once. Plus, I always say, “Recycle, Reduce, Reuse” in other areas of my life, why not my wedding too? With my whole wedding on a budget, this concept worked perfectly for me.
Two months before my wedding I called Something Borrowed Bridal Boutique to rent a gown. Carol, the former owner said that she was no longer renting wedding gowns and gave me the opportunity to purchase the gown for the same price as renting. I made an appointment and while she showed me all the beautiful gowns I asked why she is no longer renting them. She let me know that her partner who helped her start the business just passed away and she didn’t want to continue doing the business without her. I expressed sadness for her loss and also for the brides that would miss this opportunity that both of them had provided others. I suggested that she should look into selling the business to someone who could continue this great service.
Four weeks before my wedding day Carol called and offered me the SBBB business. I was honored that she would ask me and promptly agreed. After my honeymoon, on October 25, 2009 I reopened Something Borrowed Bridal Boutique’s doors out of my own home. Now I enjoy assisting other brides as they prepare for the most important day of their lives by providing the gown of their dreams at a fraction of the price, just like Carol did for me.
